Yes it took the plucky Brits to put a decent Big-Cat gun in them, the gun you Yanks refused to mount! But the GIs were only too pleased to see those few Fireflies when their 76mm Shermans were going up like Ronsons!

I couldn't agree more with you, without the yanks us Brits would have been screwed, my late father (RAF) was assigned to the Mighty 8th during WW2 and he never ever let us forget it.
