And since we're talking about World War II history the Brits and French could have prevented it at the very beginning...Your PM Neville Chamberlain signed away the Sudetenland to Hilter, some would say that encouraged Hilter to be more bold. Or how about when Germany marched into the Rhineland....where were the Brits and French? And lets not forget that Britian and France had a treaty/pact with Poland that if Poland were invaded by Germany the British and French would come to her aid....but there was no aid was there? We had the Phony war, historians/scholars/even German generals agree that if Britian and France would have invaded Germany when Poland was invaded then World War II would be over....but instead we have untold deaths.
