Also, IBs are notorious for blowing up. Ive seen/heard of 2 blow up-once when I was talking to the same person who it had blown up on, which was being charged on a Duratrax ICE, and one when i was on the drivers stand, then I hear a POFF!! I thought it was a lipo, but softcase's arent allowed atmy track.
They have to make a lot of sacrifices to get the capacity so high, a typical NIMHhas a lot more anode than cathode (or vice versa) in order to give some resistance to overcharging / overdischarging, and contains catalysts to cause gasses released during rapid charging to combine back to water or something similar (rather than vent). Increasing capacity means maximizing the amount of cathode and anode, and that space has to come by removing something...
