Yea the shimming of the gears has a big part in how long they last. Just like shimming the Spur gear.

I would also thow some boca bearings in the diffs instead of the HPI bearings. Usually when I have a diff go out it is from having the bearing come appart then that lets the ring gear move and grind the teeth off.
