I don't thing the prices are that expensive.
I agree. Latex can be had much cheaper but then other paints can be much more. I checked out the Nelson Hobby paint and while it may be a very good product, it's double that of something like Sig Lite Coat low shrink butyrate dope.
I would never use a water base paint on any model airplane of mine.
Again I tend to agree. I know that people use latex on their models and many cars are painted with water based paints, I'm just not sold on it.
You have a lot of money invested in the kit, engine and covering already. Not to mention the time invested. NOw is not the time to skimp or rush.
Yes I do and no it's not. I've used dope many times in the past (hope there aren't any cops reading this

) and I'm familiar with it. I'm also not sure how it's going to work painting FG parts with latex.
I'm going to do a little more digging, I'll definitely check out that link on painting with latex, but I'll probably end up using dope. I just don't want to take a chance on a model that I've been working on for 6 months and have $1500 invested in.
