That difference would certainly contribute to having your hands full when getting the airplane trimmed out. Glad you were able to get it sorted out. One thing I do with my planes is to set up the ailerons with a differential flying setting: more down throw than up throw. If I have 100% down throw dialed in on an aileron, I'll then set the up throw on that aileron to about 85%; this is done on EACH aileron. The plane performs much nicer with this setup.
