Default RE: Willow Run??

ORIGINAL: arizonasun25
I had planned on going to fresno to hang with the boyz. However due to the disrespect of 2 friends of mine Tamm and Jimmy I have decided to pass this year and go to the Willow that weekend instead.
LOL Ron - You think THAT was disrespect ? IMO if you really want to see disrespect, you should have seen some of the previous years' stuff that has gone on. (I don't think you were in the jet scene at the time - maybe 2 or 3 years ago ?). When some people commented here on RCU about some issues/concerns from the prior year's Fresno event and asked whether there could be some improvements made, the responses on here from some event organizers/officials got surprisingly nasty, surprisingly quickly : telling people straight out that if they didn't like the way things had been done in the past, they should stay the &^* home ... anyone who had prepaid and was suggesting improvements was offered their money back if the'd just %^* off and stay away from Fresno.

Kinda made me wonder at the time whether Frank Tiano had a twin brother here on the West Coast, as it was the kind of attitude he's infamous for.

Eventually the nasty stuff was deleted and someone else with a bit more reason started trying to convince people to still attend; I remember a bunch of emails in which Bob Wilcox went well out of his way to contact and convince many people to support the event DESPITE the hotheaded attempts by organizers to drive us away. So the "we gotta stick together" ralling cry has already been used successfully at least once - but I'm hearing from quite a lot of people that there's little chance of the same strategy working a second time. Who knows though - there's still a few weeks, so maybe the wounds can be healed.

I'll try to make it out to whichever one most of you guys are going to ... I have family arriving tomorrow from the UK, for about 3 or 4 weeks (complete with 3 young girls who never stop talking / singing), so I will ABSOLUTELY be ready for a break once that's all over !
