You dont need a brushless esc to run a lipo............you simply install a $25 dollar LVC (novak) directly to your esc.

Here is an inexpensive ESC, and i will swear by it..........never one problem (i own 13 of them), has reverse, can handle 7 cells, or 2s lipo (with lvc) - $29 - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAMN7&P=7
