the NIrvana is plastic - and as for your other question you might want to go right to steve on his website and ask - because i
have read on other chat sites that NIrvana's are kinda being re-tooled and I couldn't say about part availability right now .
the fellow I am refering to is Steve Lang at www.sailrc.com he was the lead guy in bringing these boats here and now is the
class secretary for them with the AMYA .
