Default RE: Himax 6330/F3A outer runner test data

Hi Luke,

Are these full throttle readings? The rpm and amp draw are significantly lower comparing to the Axi 5325 turning the same propeller. Assuming the voltage was the same, the result is lower power for the Himax.
You also mentioned in the first post that the 5700 rpm at 61.9 A reading was not taken at full throttle.
Looking forward for more info.
For electric, the voltage and current give you "Input Power". It is NOT 100% converted to output power. In general, power loss is heat.
When motors swing the same prop in the same rpm, their "output power" are the same (or very simliar).
In this case, the lower the current, the lower "Input power" is needed. In other word, more efficient. So, yes, Himax 6330/F3A needs lower input power. Since it is more efficient, the output power is the same as Himax 6332/230 (or Axi 5330/F3A). Consequently, I don't need TP5300, the lighter TP4200 or even TP4000 will be more than enough to finish one AMA Master sequence. That will save me 200-300 grams.
