well if its a nitro heli, they might have alot of negetive pitch on the blades, causing more drag, which means more time to start up, or they could b running it so rich, that the motor just takes that long to spool it up(not a good thing), but its most likely the pitch. If it was electric, it was probably because of the same reason. If it spools up very quickly, the blades probably had very little pitch(around zero), which causes blades to spool up quickly,
