I currently put an OS 160 FX in a CMP PT-40 Warhawk with a 16x10 Master Airscrew wood prop. Instructions say 1,800-10,000 operating range. I am currently getting 9,400 rpm and thought that was perfect. I realize in the air it will be much higher. Should I go to an 18x10 and does anyone know how many rpm it will drop.

I found that judicious throttle control will stop the engine over revving with a 16x10 APC, or try a 17x10 APC, the 16x10 will give more pulling power for uplines, as it won't slow down as quickly as a 17x10.
