The Futaba used is going from a low of $100.00 to $150.00, that's the 9-C. As Dave pointed out, the radio can be changed over to 2.4. A lot would depend on the servos that come with the radio too. I have the 9-C and love the radio but if I was just starting out I would be going to 2.4. Due to the number of RXs I would need right now to change over I haven't done it, I need to have at the very least 6 RXs. Nothing wrong with the 9-C at all, one of the very best radios ever made but it is old Tech. Very hard choice, good luck with it.
