Go with the 2.4 if you are just starting out. It will save you money in the long run. The 72s are great and I loved my Futaba but the tims of change are here and 2.4 is the only way to go IMHO. You can do so much more with the computer radios and you won't have to spend a ton of money later on to switch out 72 RXs to 2.4 RXs. Again just my opinion, but strongly encourage you go 2.4.
