It really all depends on what radio you want. 72mhz stuff is getting cheaper all the time, so if you want to outfit alot of planes with new $25 recievers then it makes sense. 72 still works as well as it ever did, although I do love the convenience of 2.4 and won't likely go back. The only advice I'll offer is don't settle. Decide what you need for your modeling plans, and buy it. Even if you have to wait, it'll be cheaper in the long run.
