Charge cut off for 12v 7amp battery
Hi everyone.
Still learning and have a question for you..
I have a 12v battery for my field box. This come with a .6amp charger that you just plug into the wall.
I went a step further and am charging my battery using my new Thunder AC6 battery charger.
It can recognize and charge this battery but the first problem is that the 120 minute cutoff had to be disabled because at .6amp it can take several hours to complete.
now when flipping through the display it said the voltage cutoff for the battery is at 14.7v.
I have charged the battery before until the charger said DONE.
There is also no setting to change that 14.7 so I am thinking the charger knows what the max voltage is and just cuts it off then.
I guess what I am asking is, does this sound right to you? I know the alternator of a car delivers at a higher rate to charge the battery..
is a safe cutoff for a 12v 7amp field box battery 14.7v ?
Thanks.
