I like my 9C, but there is no way I would shell out the money for the Futaba FASST 2.4Ghz system. There are so many options for modules that you can buy for the Futaba 9C. I just bought a Module and Rx from FrSky for about $65 shipped. There are others, (Assan, Corona, FlyDream, Hitec, etc...)
The 9C is a great start, but don't forget to factor in the cost of the Rx every time you buy or build an airplane.
