RE: Annoying people at the field.
As a retired professional pilot, I have seen and heard every "know it all" on the planet. (Try sharing the cockpit with a test pilot!) I usually just let it roll off, but on a couple of occasions I had to play my trump card. Try this: "You're a very experienced pilot, but have you ever walked on the moon?" Answer: "No". My response: "Then you don't impress me very much." Of coarse the damage is permanent, so choose the moment wisely. I've only had to use that twice in 40 years, but it sure did the job!
