Futaba has switched back and forth between plastic and wire.
The current 4 through 7 channel models have plastic.
8 and 10 channels have wire.
12 and 14 channel models have wire with a plastic grip.

Is there anything you can attach to your tray to hold the transmitter at a good angle when you put it down?
