Cad Class
For any one interested in using CAD to produce model plans can I recommend taking a look at the Cad Class tutorials now available on Gary Hethcott’s web site,
http://www.wingsontheweb.com
Last year Gary took two groups of students through the entire process of producing from scratch a full set of scale drawings using Turbocad.
The classes took place live over the internet using Webex video conferencing. Assuming no prior knowledge of CAD, Gary leads each group through the design stages utilising a common agenda. (Group 1 worked on the Clemm 35, group 2 on the Aichi D4Y "Judy".)
The package consists of the recordings from these sessions representing over 14 hours of tuition plus the bonus of benefitting hugely from Gary’s 10 years of CAD experience. His grasp of the subject matter and ability to communicate makes the whole process seem very logical and easy to follow and certainly encourages one to learn more.
The webex interface and controls are very easy to use with the biggest benefit being the ability to start at any point of the recordings without the recording locking up
There are several versions of Turbocad i.e designer, deluxe and pro. Gary overcomes version differences by showing several methods of performing a task. The additional benefit of this approach is that the principals and techniques can be applied to other cad programmes.
To find out more take a look at the sample recordings available on the web site along with a copy of the agenda, you won’t be disappointed!
