Mike, the "best" set of floats depends on what you want. You can buy an all wood kit of from Great Planes and build them yourself. You can buy plastic or fiberglass floats ready to paint. Also you can buy foam core kits and sheet them or fiberglass them. In my opinion the foam cares are the best because they are lighter than the wood kit floats and they cannot spring a leak and fill up with water as any of the hollow floats can.
