Default H-9 Incident Meter Battery Alternative

Hi,

I have a Hangar 9 Angle Pro 4-in-1 digital control throw and incident meter. Very shortly after I got it, I left it on and ran the battery down. I figured I'd just pop down to the battery supply shops and pick up a new one. Unfortunately I could not find one and I did not know how to get one locally.

So doing what all modellers do, I decided to work on a substitute. What I did was the following:
1. take a dowel approximately the same size as the battery, put ends on it, and solder red and black leads to the ends. I wanted small flexible wire so I used servo wire with the signal wire removed.
2. get a 4 cell AAA battery holder and solder positive and negative wires to ends I put on it
3. I then painted red on the dowel and inside the battery compartment indicating + and - (pos and neg) to ensure proper dowel orientation. Make sure you put positive to positive and negative to negative.
4. put batteries in the holder then insert the dowel into the battery compartment making sure of the positive and negative orientation - note the battery compartment door has a convenient slot to put the wires through

Pictures are below.

I hope this helps someone else. Let me know if it does.

Wayne
