Default ARF Mig 21 Interceptor propjet

I just noticed in the recent issue of FlyRC that Vmar has a Mig21. It looks great. Says that it is retract ready and has flaps and air brakes. Comes with a metal spinner as well. It is a 60 size that weighs around 9-10 lbs. Anyway, I get excited when a new propjet comes along and this one really caught my eye! $299

I did a google search and no one has a pic yet, however it is in the magazine full page ad at the bottom. Cant wait to see it up close or a big pic at least. This one really looks like a jet with tons of sweep in the wings etc. Very interesting!

Cool, can't wait to see a pic.

Hopefully, this thread won't bring out all the Vmar bashers.....not that anyone interested in this one would listen...

They've got the VMAR Phantom out over here now. Looks great. Has anyone flown the VMAR (.90 sized) Phantom yet? any personal pics of it yet?
I'm hoping the skyhawk and now this mig will be introduced over here too. seems that propjet are becoming rare in arf form.

Wanna see, wanna see, wanna seeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAaaaaaaaaahhh the suspense is killing me!!!

The Mig-21 has always been one of my favourite planes, and I'd even be willing, *gulp*, to buy an ARF just to have one!!

Of course, I could buy it and then bash it abit just to personalize it....

I called RichmondRC today and she said that it would not be in stock until March!!!! Soooo, why run the adds now? They are also sold out of all the F4's.

[color=#FF0000][b]ATTN: MIG 21 Lovers...

How about a Mig 21 DF based on Tim Farrell's Mig 21 that appeared in Scale R/C Modeler in 11/88. I enlarged his plans to accommodate a 5" Dynamax fan and an OS 91 DF engine. I then had the kit cut. This resulted in a fuselage length of a whopping 86"!!! Unfortunately, I'm thinking about selling the kit, fan and engine as I just don't have the time or the room to build it.

it will be a nice airplane, but as usual a bit heavy and not very scale like all VMAR products

by the way this airpalne is a .90 size ready for retracts and flaps

dave03b== heres a pic of the f4, not super fast as it is a bit draggy, and mines only got an ST G90, mac's pipe..cant wait to see the MIG 21.. that should be interesting..air brake aswell..wonder how many servo's it needs, my F4 has eight, but thats because I used two retract servo's for the retracts...wasnt game to use only one on 2 sets of retract gear

near this vmar phantom you can see one of the first mig 21, this model is one of the very first ones and will be on display in a static show. it's not airworthy . plenty of improvement will be done on it

the mig has no aibrake, it has flaps

Hey Salmonbug, thanks for the pictures. The Mig looks considerably better than the phantom in my opinion. I'm tempted...really really tempted.

I've been visting VMAR's website occasionally to see if they'll post pictures of the Mig, and they haven't yet. Funny thing is, they updated it with another new propjet.... an F-5! Check it out guys!

actually the more I look at the mig the more I like it...although not a speed plane I think it will look alright in flight.. but I think I'd prop it for more verticle moves ...now the important part ..wait for the pricing on this one

In an email respose I received yesterday from Richmond RC, the Mig 21 price, as indicated previously in another thread, will be $299. The expeected release date now is May 2005. They also said that speecifications are "forthcoming" but power is from a .60 to a .91.

my opinion on it (I have it my hands) is that it should be flight with at good standard .91 engine . 60 will be a little bit too small

that's my opinion only

well prices in OZ are bit steeper than for you guys in the US natrually, eg I dont know what the Phantom goes for over there but here it was about $528.00 although I saw one on ebay a few nights ago for $199 aud so i expect the mig to be expensive!!!!
