Not slammin ya but I assume the hood is supposed to look like carbon fiber ? ( I think it does anyway ) what did you use for the stencil ?
also what brand of paint do you use ? My hobbie shop doesent know much about paint and I have been looking for somthing very flexable for the RC bodies.

that has to be the best mb paint scheme i have seen all those layers to create the finished effect are amazing truly

i am a full time-graphic designer and believe me when i say that paint scheme is perfect, you could make some serious money by airbrushing shells like that

Can i second that. It really is one of the best that i have seen. I can see loats of time an effort has been put into marsking, painting that.

That body looks fantastic! I have to assume that the graphics are actually decals, (checkerboard and hood pattern) right? The lines look very clean...I would really love to hear all of the steps that you took in order to come to that end.

I am still waiting for my MB, so I have been practicing on a sheet of Lexan, but I have run into several problems. Finally, I have decided to use a silver sharpie (permanent marker) to make the precise lines and dots, and painter's masking tape to divide the color sections, before spraying the metallic silver overlay and navy blue stripe. Any mistakes will (hopefully) be hidden by the sticker/decals.

I can't wait to get started. My MB is going to be painted like an old bomber airplane, with stars, stripes, 'sheet metal' and rivets. I am even going to mount a small propeller at the front of the hood that will spin as the car drives forward. It sound a little goofy and unrealistic, but like I said, it will be small and should not get too damaged.

Please, feel free to give any advice that might help me keep from screwing up.

i just did my first clear shell. what a pain. i am used to spraying the normal way round
i gave 2 ideas up cause i couldn't get the very intricate design on the inside of the shell.
i then found its possable to cover with masking tape and cut the design while on the car and the cut lines will not show up in the paint. DOH.
oh well i'll know next time.

Thanks for all the Replys!I m really happy the way my shell turn out.there are no stickers at all,everything is painted with an airbrush.Honestly i can t take the credit for it[]I can only wish to paint like this!This is my friends work,he is one of the best painters i no!The paint used is Parma s Flaskcolor finished with a protective clear.The masking has been done with viynle that they use for stickers.All of the graphite is hand done with a type of anti skid mat that people use in there tool box,this gives the graphite pattern.The checkerd flags are also hand done with alot of practice!

I will post some finished pictures in a bit with the body on and the spoiler finished in graphite.
