Hi I have a 25cc Homelite and a 25cc Craftsman engine I am trying to mod and was wondering what kind of carb I should get. I want to know what carb is better Walbro WT or WA. I think I am going to get the carb for the Craftsman engine first because I am going to make a homemade goped. Stock it has a WA-226. Sorry if its a dumb question but I need to know and im sure you guys have an idea of what to get. Thanks

The WT & WA only stand for different "style" and the #'s do to a point. For example: A WA167, WA142 & a WT433 are the exact same size carb. The difference being the WA167 has a choke & primer bulb, the WA142 has no choke or primer bulb (my favorite for engines not coweled in) and the WT433 has a choke but no primer bulb. There are also small differences in little thingy that you hook your throttle to. There all in the same place but just look a little different. I'm sure there are many more Carb model #'s that will end up being the exact same size. I wouldnt worry about the WA or WT thing, I have all 3 of the carbs I have listed & one takes no preference over the other.

Ok thanks, what size carb would you suggest. I have a WT-323 but that seems like it might be too big. Oh one more thing, on two of my carbs it doesn't have the high speed needle, its blocked off. Is that good or bad.

I dont know much about the Craftsman but for the 25cc Homey any of the 3 I mentioned in the previous post work the best. I have mine on 25cc Homeys as well. There about the largest carb you can use on those engines. On all three there is a "27" stamped just inside the throat. Thats what I look for! I'm not familuar with the WT323 so I cant help much there. As for only having one adjusting needle, it will work and I have used them but you will never get both the low & high end just so. You will have to settle for a happy medium. Below is a link to where I get all my carbs. This guy is very nice & is very reasonable. The last one I ordered was around $24. Thats not bad since I had to pay $35 for my first one at the local small engine shop, & I had to wait on it for a month. V.E. Peterson had it in stock & I had it in just a few days. http://www.vepetersen.com/index.html Another good way to get carbs is go to your local small engine shop & see if he has any weedeaters that folks didnt want back. I'll bet he has a pile of them. I know mine does. I salvage thru a new pile about every month or 2. My guy gives me all the carbs off the "junk" pile I want - so long as I take the whole weedeater. Saves him from having to haul it off. If I find one I want I just go ahead & get a new carb kit (about $5) rebuild it & good as new! Cheap to!!

Oh Yea, the WT 433 might be the easiest to get. I think the WA167 has been discontinued & the 433 is standard on the newer 33CC Homey chain saws.

What about the WYJ carbs. Are those any good. Whats the difference between the WYJ and the Wt or WA.

WY carbs have a rotary like a glow carb instead of a disc openin....Most don't have a high speed adjustment needle, and no choke...

So the WYJ carbs would not work for what I need them for.

The only way to find out is try one. I had a rotary throttle type on a homelite 30cc. It worked good. Thanks John
