Here is my RT sport.

Academy RC cars are definitely the most popular brand here in Korea. All the other big companies are sold here but the shelves are stocked with many Academy vehicles.
Also, spare parts are as plentiful as milk and honey. I broke a few pieces on the front, and the hobby shop had just what I need right behind the counter. They were also really cheap - only about $6 for two packages of various pieces.
Well here is my RT. I bought it used. It has a 10T motor, no name brand esc, and mismatched shocks. I really enjoy bombing around with it.
If anyone is having a hard time getting replacement parts for their academy vehicles, I could probably pick them up and send them wherever. Shipping to the US or Canada is very cheap from here.

Enjoy!

Nice Jameschatz! Yeah they are excellent quality rcs, not some cheap brand or anything. Like I said before, they are really really popular here in Korea.
Hey, if you ever need a part and can't find it let me know and I'll get it for you here.
Us academy guys have to stick together!

Yes, Clint is the new proud owner of the RT sport! In answer to how it performs on the track, I have no idea, mine was really really fast so I imagine it would do fantastic.

Come to think of it I'm not actually sure, I could swear it does cause it has an adjustment nut with a spring on the big gear, just like my mini t slipper, and the big gear is pressed against a circular aluminum flat piece. So I think it does. But maybe it was added by the previous owner, and was not a stock item.
Here's a picture in which you can just see the top of what I think is it, adn you can see the nut with the spring.

have you guys any idea on what upgrade parts are out for it? Actually i upgraded its gear and its doing very, very fine. Mine also has no slipper, you can drive it without slipper but you have to push your motor against the big pinion and tighten it in that position, otherwise the motor will jump teeth on your pinion.
As i said my gear is upgraded and it can handle the power without a slipper but if you have the stock pinions in your gear you should have a slipper.

you may want to contact JK Racing on the www.rc10b4.com forum as he had the Griffin and this truck and implemented some mods that improve the vehicle.

Is the Academy RT Available in North America? Something tells me that the importer: Model Rectifier Corporation. Has not brought this unit to the North American Market. Does anyone know?
On a differant topic. I would love to see an Academy 4wd buggy upgraded to truggy.

Dont know about that but if you cant get spare parts easiely you should stick with another car thats popular in your region.
Bye the way, iam upgrading my nephews RT with a Reedy 19T quad mag and Proline Masher 2000 for more ground clearance and more offroad action, it already has a LRP no limit ESC, Associated dampers and delrin front bumper.
The spur gear in this one has 64dp, i dont know if this is original or from the previous owner but thats the reason for the tooth jumping between motor and spur gear so i have to try it with a 48dp spur, then i will see how the gear will hold up without a slipper.

Just so you know. North America is the continent that you live on. It includes Canada, USA, Mexico, etc. And you are right, MRC does have limited retail dealers in North America. But I have a feeling that with the strong product line up of the imported Academy units, that this is about to change.
