Do you have any detailed pictures of your setup? I'd love to see examples of successful AP setups. I've seen a few of your videos around the forums and they are fantastic! You have done a really good job. I'm just learning this aspect of the hobbie and really digging it! I want to buld my own version of a slow stick too, bigger version for visibility, but keep it light enough for a small electric power plant. Also, yb2normal mentioned to use an autopilot in failsafe. U-Nav.com is the place that sells the PDC-10 autopilot you were asking about.
They make a great safety feature for any plane, but it’s going to cost you around $450 to put one together unless you already have a failsafe receiver, GPS and Co-Pilot.
I'm pretty sure the AMA changed their rules last fall to not cover them or allow them at AMA fields, so if you fly under the AMA check with them (or Dave at U-NAV) before buying one.
