Default AUTOKITE VIDEO

Two clips from my Kyosho Autokite with 200MW B/W transmitter and Panasonic CCD camera. This link will take you to my website. I tried it this morning and it is much faster but still a 30 min download at 56k modem. Hope you enjoy.[link=http://www.freewebs.com/vultch120/index.htm]Vultures RC [/link]

Vulch, that was a neat video... took forever to download, but it was pretty neat!

Do you have a picture of the Autokite? How did you download the video to your PC?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, Sorry about the long download, but it seems that the freesavers site is very slow, but I'll not look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm using the Dazzle interface to go from VHS to computer. Ulead software for editing. I'll send you a CD with the full flight from take off to landing Appx. 165 MB (11 min. long) and the shortened edited version with pictures of the Autokite ( still 136MB with sound clip) if you wish ( No charge)Below are a couple of pictures of the Kite The camera is mounted above the prop on the two support rods at the top of the sail. The transmitter is behind the pilot. Tony

Better yet, can you just copy the original tape? I can encode it to the pc over firewire to maximize the quality.

I'll pay you for the tape and shipping... email me and we'll nail down the details.

Where does one get one of these cool airplanes?

Tower Hobbies sells the plane. I'll be glad to send you a copy of the tape. I have a very limited area for a runway and that is why I'm using this plane. Due to the angle of the camera the landings appear hard even though it is gentle.
Hold on guys. I'm trying an upgrade to my website for faster downloads. It should be in place within 48 hours. I'll get the tape in the mail tomorrow.
All four of my BlackWidow systems work great!

I gave up on freeservers some months back and switched to imhosted.com.
I was paying 18 bucks a month for my freeservers account which gave me half a gig of space.
The downloads became very slow so I bailed to imhosted.com. I now pay 14 bucks a month for a gig and a half of space.
They also set me up with my domain.

I fianally have it speeded up. I changed the link to go my homepage, there you may choose of two clips. One is 5.7MB the other is 18MB. I hope this helps. I tried the download for the small one and the rate was 3.7 KBs avg. which with my 56K connection will take appx. 30 min. The long one has takeoff and landing. If you think you have problems with "Airplane Magnets" Look what I have to contend with! "Ha HA "

Good Grief!! No runway, trees everywhere, power lines....that was some pretty good flying! The big video only took 16 minutes to download, was getting about 19 kbs. I love the sudden abrupt landing....it was like you have the brakes on full when you touched down and bounced backwards!

Next you will need virtual reality glasses so you can fly out over the tree line!

Been trying to download the video since you first posted it. For some reason, my browser would not let me download it due to security concerns. Finally working now. Was a setting on my end but I dont know what I changed to allow me to download it now. Never ran into this before.

Interesting, I had the same problem and the only way I could download it was to install the Firefox browser...weird.

Thanks guys. I can't wait until fall when the leaves change color. I don't claim to be much of a pilot or videographer but it is a lot of fun. You guys have posted many fine videos. Skycam 41, that last one was great. Fubar-one has posted many good ones as well as others too many to mention. Thanks to all of you for sharing your hobby. Vultch

Nice Video and plane. No problems with getting the video from the server.

What camera are you using and do you have a web page where I can have a look at the camera.

I am at this point looking for what camera I have to buy and what type. If you have any feedback on this, please let me know.

Hi Mortan. I'm using a Panasonic 1/4 CCD, which I think is now the KX-121 camera. Several of us were fortunate enough to buy them from Ebay while they lasted. I also have a Panasonic CX-161 I purchased from BlackWidow. The 161 seems to have a little better clarity but the 121 has a wider lens. Both are small and weigh about the same. B/W has them for sale. Below is a pic of the one on the autokite.

YB2NORMAL, if he gets time offered to edit and post some of the video I shot. He has much better hardware and software than I do. There is quite a diffrence between the VHS video and MPEG which I am using. I'm very satisfied with my Dazzle system, considering I only paid around $50.00 from Ebay, But I'm using a laptop and it does well enough for me. Anyway I have the VHS to watch. Thanks for the offer Jaxxon.

Doh! I totally forgot. I just checked and the tape was still in the VCR... shows you how often I use the vcr

I pulled the tape out to remind myself.

Great videos Vultch !! I don't know if you remember, but we spoke last year when I was building my Autokite (I has a mishap during the engine testing and never flew it). Well, I watched your videos and that made me want to fix mine, so I got the required pieces and am just about ready for maiden flight !

Thanks.

I really like the face you have on yours. Don't let it get away from you again. I'm going to try to get some fresh video clips uploaded this weekend. Hope you have a blast and keep me posted how the maiden flight goes. Tony
