Here are a couple of pics of my runway and surroundings here at home. These were taken with my samsung digimax.

Default RE: Photos of my runway.

In the second photo, that's my house with the red trailer in front of it. My runway is on the right hand (east) side of the property. Where the ground color changes is the edge of it.
To the north, and east I have open area, and to the west are just a few small houses. The park at the north end of town is where a local celebration takes place each year in the summer. I'm hoping to do some flights along side the complex and do some side shots for their website. That park is crammed full of people at the time.
The far right shot is the back of my property, looking pretty much down the runway.
If any vets are interested, here is the local event I'm hoping to get some AP of.

Actually I had a Samsung 201 Digimax. I would guess I was about 300 or so feet above ground when I took those photos. These days I'm using a Nikon 3700. My plane is a converted Kadet Senior with a .61 glow engine. If you want to see the plane go to my webpage.

Looks good, do you throttle down to take pics or any rpm ?? ie whats the vibration level at different rpm. The Samsung A6 I just got is 6mp and 5.8oz...4.3x 2.2x1.3" will use a large mmc card for vid & pics...havent got the card yet . If I find vibration a problem I will go electric/glider route so I can switch motor off. Ive got an Airtronics Olympic 2 , 100" span kit I got off Ebay, will mod to take e/p & camera .
Its winter here now, so as Im a slow builder the above should be ready for next summer.
no white xmas down here , does it snow in Too son ??[8D]

my engine and camera are soft mounted but I usually get better pics if I keep the throttle above idle. I live in missouri and it does snow in the winter here.

Thanks for the info, I will see if I can find your posts in the future when I get airbourne. The coldest it gets here- mid-south australia is around 37F , I live about 1.5 miles from the coast...plenty of good slope soaring sites around. T T F N

Very cool video's!

Do you ever get any complaints from your neighbors about flying over their houses?

I saw a set of video glasses, which 'might' allow you to fly your plane by the video camera...that would be cool!

They were a little expensive though, about $ 200.

Really neat videos!

No I never get any complaints from the neighbors. In fact, they will stand out in thier yards and watch while I fly. When I haven't flown in a while they'll even ask what's wrong. I don't really like the idea of flying with video glasses, but I do have a helmet mounted TFT monitor to line up photos. Here's a shot from this spring with the green grass.

We've gotten ten inches of rain in the last two weeks. My grass is actually turning yellow now from too much rain. [:@] Maybe tomorrow I'll fly a sortie so you can see.

I'll look forward to it. [8D]

For that matter, it would be nice if there were some green (anything green) here in Kuwait too. Everything is sand color. [:'(]

I crashed my AP plane last Saturday so I had to get a new camera. I've got a Samsung 430 coming and I'm building a .40 size plane that will be set up almost identical to the Kadet but with a few changes. I'm going to take the CCD bullet cam out and put the samsung directly on the nose. I'll also do away with the pan servo because I've found that with AP it's better to have the camera set up solid and simply aim the plane.
It will be quite a bit lighter and smaller to make it easier to transport. The Kadet had an eighty inch wing and this plane is around sixty or so inches. I'll be using a soft mounted .46 magnum, mounted on top of the wing like the Kadet was. Some large wheels for rough fields also, and stall plates on the wingtips and flaps.
The Kadet weighed thirteen lb and the new plane should weigh in at around 6 to 8 lb. It will still limit me to shots in the country, mostly, but that's the type of flying I prefer anyway. Not as much money to be had for AP but every little bit counts.

hello,I'm also using a .40 size trainer as my Ap platform now instead of my glider..i converted it to elec. with a large Axi motor which helps with vibrations a lot! Also my camera is mounted inside my plane in the cockpit right under the CG.its a lot safer then having it hang out of the plane on some sticks...well click this link to see my plane and setup...enjoy..

Nice,

I’ve been taking air photos with 35mm film cams for years I still need to move in to digital photos, but that has been on the back burner since I have gotten in to wireless aerial video.
