Default anyone used a Mustek DV5000?

On the lookout for a fairly cheap, small camera that i can get here in the UK without any effort (i'm lazy, lol)

I've found the Mustek DV5000, seems to fit the bill rather nicely and on the plus side it'll work as my main camera since i managed to strip a gear in the zoom mechanism on mine (oops)

Doing a search on this site i found this thread - [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2647464/anchors_2647464/mpage_1/key_Mustek%252CDV5000/anchor/tm.htm#2647464]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2647464/...5000/anchor/tm.htm#2647464[/link], however i can't get the video to load

And searching on the net pretty much only brings up all the review sites that seem to be taking over

So, anyone had any experience with one? and most importantly, has anyone got some video from one

Incidentally, it'll be going into a Thunder Tiger Trainer Mk2, .40 size trainer, and later maybe a lazy bee

Thanks

It should work, try again at a different time.
Sometimes the free server is slow...

When opened set the player (view width) at 320...

Indeed the colours are a bit washed.
I just bought a Philips Key019 MP3 player witha 25 min Mpeg4 recording possibility.
It weighs only 60 gramms including its own lithium powersource.

The movies are better I think.
25 frames/sec, 320x240, more colours, tiny bit sharper then the DV 5000.

But the best for weight/performance ratio...

Samples may take a while.
i go for a holiday and have to convert my Sky Surfer to 35 Mhz.
Stay tuned! [8D]

I have used a Mustek DV4000 - purposely bought and modified a MPX Easystar. Cut a hole just in front of the canopy and just pushed the camera in. Powered the ES with a 3 cell Lipol 1320MHa pack - and generally got bored after 25 + mins of flying. Very cost effective little setup.

But - the Mustek camera has a bit of a problem with its "white balance" in that it is very slow to respond - basically turning into sun can washout the image for several seconds.

My camera broke - looked like the ccd was playing up. In the end I sent it back to the manufacturers - waited several months - and then waited several more. Eventually a package arrived from them unannounced containing a new video camera. Only trouble was that this new camera (totally unbranded) is four times the size (though much better spec'ed - including four white balance modes and full autofocus) - there is no way it would fit in the easystar!
