Default Aerial shots of Johnson Space Center

Here are a few photos of Johnson Space Center here in Houston. You can make out "Rocket Park" in some shots with two rockets upright on display near a long slender building that houses the Saturn V rocket. I used an Aipteck Pencam 1.3 mounted to my sport scale U-2 model. For pics of my ship, go to the website below. Enjoy!

Cool! Here is my pic of the same place. Mine was taken on my first flight in a Cessna 172. I borrowed a freinds' Nikon 35mm to shoot the pic. I didn't know how to set it though cuz it was a manual camera and I have no photo skillz.

I live on the other side of Clear Lake there just off Hwy. 518. I love this area and will never move from it!

I just realized that my picture actually shows what is inside that big white building in your pics. I took my picture around March or April of last year. You can see the beams going up that will be the framework of that building. I guess they wanted to protect the Saturn V rocket from the elements. Can't replace something like that! Anyway, now everyone can SEE what's inside that building... A MONSTER ROCKET!!!

I visit Clear Lake regularly. Mu brother works at JSC.

What can a visitor do to arrange to fly at your field? Is it open to other AMA members to fly as guests?

How long is the runway? What size planes can be flown there?

Thanks,

BobbyG

To fly there you will need a field pass issued by the club to get you on the facility. There is more information on the club and obtaining feild passes at the club website www.jscrcc.com

The runway is fairly long but I dont have a number for you. I imagine you can fly just about anything off of it without any trouble.
