Default Burning MPG Files to DVD Questions

I just got a new computer with XP Media Edition. When I try to burn some of my R/C vids to a DVD, it won't recognize the MPG file. What gives?[&o]

Are you trying to burn the DVD as a DVD video? Or as a Data DVD? I guess we need to know what you're trying to do. If you intend to watch the DVD on a DVD player, then you need to burn a video DVD, in which case I'm not sure if XP Media Edition will recognize .mpg files. If it's just to burn the .mpg file as a data DVD (eg: for transport to another computer), then there shouldn't be any problem.

Could try converting the file to AVI or WMV first. I believe the free program SUPER can do it. Look here under FreeWare.
