Well, we took our (me and dad) planes to a couple of local baseball fields and took off. I was up first since mine needed to be hand launched and his could just ground take off. So mine went up and it was a little windy, but I had a new light module that put lights up into the wings so I could fly when it was getting dark and man did it ever help! At first I thought it was just for show, but when the sun started to go down, there were two lights on the back of the module so you could tell front from back and one light flashed amber and one flashed blue so you could tell which side was port and which was starboard. Anyways, I had my mom take videos and my dad brought his drop module so we had some good vids.

First video is me cruising around. You can see the lights on the light module, the amber doesn't show up until I land, but the blue is clear.

Besides the great videos, I think the best part of this thread is the "Me and my dad part." IMHO thats what these hobbies are all about. I love to hear that. My first child, a boy, is due in October and that was alot of my motivation to get into this is to have something else that my son and I can do. I hope he enjoys it as much as you do. Yeah, he is the one who got me into it. He started me off with a stampede and then he got me into airplanes. I hope your son gets into R/Cs also because thes are the times I will never forget. Good luck with your kid!

I'm looking forward to sharing RC with the kid, but I wonder if they will just roll their eyes at daddys archaic technology. Like they said in one of the back to the future movies..."you have to use your hands! that's a babys toy!"

Hey gernith, it's fun to look back at my dad's old R/C stuff and it is amazing how much has changed! It's fun for my, hopefully it's fun for your coming child to! Congrats on the kid!
