FPV Kit or compile your own?

Thinking about purchasing the full X11 FPV set from http://www.rc-tech.ch Then I noticed that the goggles r 640x480 & if I source my own components separately I could probably get a full FPV setup for about the same price but with 800x600 goggles but the head tracking unit would be external to the goggles.

Does the increase of resolution really matter for standard PAL or NTSC?

Not sure if I should spend the time searching for components compiling my own kit, or just get everything in one quick package, depends if there is a large different in quality one can achieve with spending a little extra time.

It is MUCH better to get your own equipment together. You get better quality, can fly further, and get better equipment when you buy the components. The system is expensive and does not work that well, cheap low range stuff.

It is well worth the time to put your system together yourself. I would NEVER buy one of those complete systems. Look at http://www.rangevideo.com or Black Widow Video.
