Default Cessna 182 Wing Fences

Some 182s have full cord fences located in continuation to the gap between aileron and flap.

I’m aware of such fences’ contributions when used on swept wings but what do they offer on straight non swept wings such as the 182’s?

I’d like to incorporate such fences on my TF Cessna 182 (for scale fidelity) and although I don’t expect to see any advantage really in flight, I was wondering if I should be aware of any potential problem they may cause?

They direct more airflow over the flaps making them a little more effective.

None that I can think of. My Divergent pattern design not only has wing fences on both wings but they also tie into the wing struts. This was done in order to make the inboard aileron area more effective. It seem as to have worked as the airplane rolls very axial without needing aileron differential.

It helps prevent spanwise flow, and between the surfaces tries to keep the air from spilling over from high-to-low pressure, thus making the surface more effective.
