Engine when enlarging plans

1 Attachment(s)
My winter project will be a 1/4-scale Fairchild 24W, enlarged from 1/4,8 scale plans. (from 90" to 108" span)
The original plans was designed for a 1 cu.in. four stroke engine
What would theoretically the (four stroke) engine size be for the 1/4-scale model, in order to get the
corresponding performance? I assume there is a formula

Thank in advance,
/Leo

A 1.20 4-stroke.... you can always pull back on the power. :)

I think if you double the size of the plane, you should put an engine four times bigger.

Get the 1/4 scale plan from Nexus. Yes, they (nexus) are a pain in the butt to deal with and the plans are messy, - but it is possible to make a model from them.
I take it for granted that you use the radial cowl.
As for engine, a 1.50 or 1.80 Saito, or 1.55 Enya FS would be ideal.
Hej då!

I already have a good set of plans, drawn by the English designer Phillip Kent.
Thanks for the suggestions though
I think I will install my Laser 200 twin. Yes, I can always pull back on the power
Thanks 3D Joy for the formula
Tack och hej Shonny :D
