Bipe Balance??

1 Attachment(s)
I got my first biplane this weekend, and flew it Sunday. I have never flown anything so hard. I set the cg about 20% of the bottom wing. It acts like the CG is off. oes anyone have advice on where a biplane CG is??

-Thanks-

RE: Bipe Balance??

If that's a Waco, the upper wing is swept, correct?
The c.g. should be at 25-30% of the mac, wherever that falls on the plan view.
I suspect it's forward of where you have it.
Post a plan view..

RE: Bipe Balance??

I don't have the plans. It looks like it may be a bit tail heavy. The top wing is swept back. Looking at the drawing, my CG is way too far back. that would explain the way the plane acts.
-thanks-

RE: Bipe Balance??

Use caution when using this scheme. With a sweptback wing, MAC is not where it would appear to be from this. MAC for the top wing will have to be calculated, then the drawing applied.
