Wing span, weight, and engine size

Wing span, weight, and engine size

How much engine is needed to put a 100”span, 700sq in, 5 pound glider (Aerofly) in thermal territory? Does anyone have a web site address for the T-tail glider?

Thanks.

Bill

I used to use a Cox Medallion .15 on one. Would pull loops from a hand launch! I would recommend the Norvel .15.

SST,

Thanks for the information. Is yours an Aerofly? Also how much weight do you have in the nose?

RE: Wing span, weight, and engine size

I just recently completed an Aerofly for a friend on this forum. He wanted to go electric. I installed a brushless motor with plenty of power, it is just that the prop size is too limited by the engine placement. I flew it once before sending it to him. You can see it in my gallery. He also wanted me to put ailerons on it, which I did.
