Sharp edges and drag?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
should I round edges on my fuselage to reduce drag?
This is quite big 35" / 12" / 12", it will be flying quite slow about -50 to 100 mph.

Thanks, Mark

The front and the shapes are actually pretty good. A little rounding would help but it would not be critical.

However the blunt rear end is going to produce a lot of drag.

50 mph maybe but I doubt this will ever see 100 mph. Depending on the wings, power and other factors it may be more of a 50 to 60 mph top speed.

Cargo design?

It is supposed to be UAV.[8D]

I forgot to tell You that it is a pusher.

Rounding it would help reduce drag marginally but, since you have a pusher, any bad flow would reduce your propeller efficiency. So, it is definately worth rounding it off.
Actually, I would consider redesigning it to blend in much better to a spinner shape. You would see a measurable increase in range/duration with your UAV application.

Describe your UAV, please. What is it going to have in it for control?
