Inverted V-tail

Why do we not see many interted V-tail configurations? Ground clearance would be my best guess, just wondering about any aerodynamic reasons.

Besides the rotation problem, I think I would rip those things off about once a weekend on the landings.

Inverted vees ususally require two booms to get the surfaces off the groung.
If the plane doesn't have retracts, a single tail boom places the surface at risk.

I think the Predator Survallince UAV missed that part of the course.

Any inverted V helps stop air from sliding sideways off of a surface, reduces drag and increases lift capacity.

RE: Inverted V-tail

For the Predator they act as tailskids to prevent a prop strike. The could have done the same thing with a large underfin and standard horizontal tail but this saves an extra surface.

.

And you missed "retracts"...
