Checking Weight & Balance
I have completed my first build project.
Questions: 1. Can anyone discribe the method of making sure the CG is where it belongs? 2. If I dont know where the center of lift is, how can it be determined. (I need to know this in order to check CG right?) |
RE: Checking Weight & Balance
The location of the c.g. depends on the plane's configuration. Conventional wing and tail will be different than a flying wing, which will different from a canard....
Conventionals also have various wing configurations.. straight with no taper, tapered, swept forward or aft.. these all can have c.g.s. There's some spreadsheet calculators that will handle most of this stuff. .. But lacking any of these, what works on one plane will work on another plane of the same configuration. The shape you're using would be needed to make any suggestions. |
RE: Checking Weight & Balance
This is about the 3rd or 4th new thread asking about CGs. :D
If you look at the thread asking about how to "predetermine the CG" you'll get some answers there. Or just go to the application at this link: http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/cg_super_calc.htm |
