Control surface placement
I normally fly a 76" Biplane with bottom wing ailerons and I'm finishing a 47" Tri-wing DR1 with top wing ailerons does anyone have any commits on handling differences?

Can't compare top to bottom ailerons, but if your DR-1 handles like the bigger ones do, have plenty to rudder throw, and use it to help the plane through a roll.

The Triplane is a rudder airplane!
Beware of that rudder! It'll turn that thing every which way.. Makes for exciting flights. The ailerons are relatively ineffective. |
RE: Control surface placement
Any thoughts on coupling rudder and ailerons through my transmitter?

RE: Control surface placement
The ailerons are so far above the c.g. they create a lot of drag. The downgoing aileron pulls the nose out and up from the turn. You won't need much down aileron.
It's a rudder airplane.. and a finicky one! |
