Engine low to thrust line??

I bought a Sig CAP 231EX today with a G23. I noticed the previous owner mounted the gasser a little low to the thrust line (cowl is a tip off as the spinner and prop are a little low to the cowl). It is about 1/4 inch low. Will this have any impact on the flying properties of the plane. It has been in the air but he is a pretty novice pilot.

Thanks

Engine low to thrust line??

I'd fill the bolt holes in the firewall and re-drill to move the engine up. Even though its unlikely that the relatively slight offset of the thrust lne will have much effect... It would be worth the effort just for the appearance of having the spinner line up with the cowl.

OK good - i am looking at the interior of the cowl and there looks to be plenty of room, but maybe the interference was with the placement of the blind nuts.. or however it is attached with the G-23. Time to go to the shop and take a peek.
