Control surface + MAC calculation

Hopefully there will someone whom is nice enough enough to bother himself in answering to my silly question but I really do not know what is the right answe between the two opinions on the following subject.

DOES the wing area calculation include the surface area of ailerons OR it DOES NOT?

This is really important to me as some of my model have a large ailerons such as 4.5in wide x 22 in long while the wing chord is 17 inches and the wingspan is 48 inches. Its more of a funfly plane.

Furthermore the correct answer to the above will determine the correct postition of CG.

Thanks

Control surface + MAC calculation

Every calculation I've seen includes the ailerons as part of the wing. After all they contribute to the overall lift. If they didn't they wouldn't work as control surfaces.
