Clark CHY airfoil
Just wondered if anyone has the coordinates for the Clark CHY. I can find a bunch of Clark airfoils, but not this one.
Maybe an explaination of the airfoil could help me out such as what the letters stand for or something along those lines. Tahks much, Hans |
Clark CHY airfoil
It's Clark YH... most of the online indexes have it.

Clark CHY airfoil
Are you sure it is YH?
This is the listing I get from most of my reseach on early Grumman planes. (Grumman G-19 F3F-2 Clark CHY ) This info is off the incomplete airfoils page. However I also get the same CHY airfoil from all of my books as well. I just can't find the file. I will look at the YH and see if it is right, Thanks for the help. Hans |
Clark CHY airfoil
A Clark C series airfoil would be early in the series...
A 3-letter designation is almost certainly incorrect. Looking at two photos of the wing root of G-23s in the Squadron Signal publication on Grumman biplanes, it's most likely a YH... rounding down from the leading edge..somewhat flattish on the bottom in the middle, kicking up a bit to the trailing edge. Any upper reflex at the trailing edge isn't obvious in the photos. |

Thanks much for the explaination. I was pretty confused about it all!
Take care Paul, and thanks again. Hans |
