60-90 Extra 300 on Gas
With the new DLE 20 coming out in the next couple of months we wanted to make sure it would work on our 60-90 Extra 300 and 260. We put the first 6 or 7 flights on the airplane last week and were EXTREMELY impressed!
The airplane weighs about 7.25 pounds and has incredible power. It is pretty rare to see an airplane this small perform as well as it did on gas but I can honestly say I am excited to get one soon! This is the perfect hassle free throw around airplane that many of us have been waiting for.
We are working on an installation addendum that will include all of the necessary mounting hardware and templates that we hope to have around the time the motors are released. Please take a look at the pictures below, as you can see the motor mounts very cleanly on the airframe.

Mark Dennis: What about the .60-.90 Yak 54?
thx Jim

Jim,
The 60-90 Yak does not have the same dimensions as the Extras and has a slightly smaller fuse. We are not recommending the DLE 20 for this airplane at this time.

Here are some photos of the 300 with a JBA 15 on it. I just keep it simple I might turn the engine this winter I will see how it works out and I have a few other things to look at this winter to lighten it up some more. I'm running a single A123 6 volt 2300 battery and regulating the ingnition down to 5.8 volts I could try the 1100 thats 80 grams alone just have to change the battery after every or everyother flight have to wait and see.

I just bought this same plane and was hoping to use a DLE 20 on it, why would it not work?

We are working on an addendum kit to install the 20cc DLE on the .60-.90 Extra 300 and 260. We have been test flying the plane with this combo and it is AWSOME!
We will have the installation kit soon. Please visit the web site for more information and updates.
We have the 20cc DLE Engines In Stock! Visit the web site for more info.
Thank You
Rocco

RE: 60-90 Extra 300 on Gas
Hello Mark...
I am building this exact plane right now... the orange color scheme also with the DLE20.
Any chances you can post couple pics of the underside of the plane to get a look at the cowl cutout.
I think someone already has a wrap around Pitts style muffler for the 20 out there... do you think this would work better? make the exhaust come out the back??
I am going to use a dedicated battery for the ignition with a remote kill option....
did you dedicate a servo for the choke or is it accessible via the bottom of the plane?
Thanks for any help!!!
