Aerowroks 20cc trainer

Hey Guys, just wondering when the new 20cc trainer will be available?...saw the announcement from Toledo and it looks like a great first gas/large aircraft...

Aero-Works 09-07-2013 09:55 AM

We have just posted the new GT Trainer on our web site and the first shipment will arrive late September mid October

Thank You

Bell407Pilot 09-07-2013 11:37 AM

When we can see video of test flight?

Aero-Works 10-14-2013 07:42 AM

Hello,

We have not had the opportunity to make a video of the Trainer yet but will work on it as soon as possible. Living in Colorado we are expecting cold weather and snow very soon.

Thank You
Rocco

received my GT Trainer on tuesday and flew it sunday with the dle 20. figured the 20 would be plenty of power as i have one in the Topflite 182 cessna and it weighs 12 lbs. very impressed with the GT's performance much more aerodynamic than the 80" Kadet {inverted flight} hops off the ground in approx 10" on 2+" tall grass. went together with no modification other than the addendum that came with the box. after returning home -discovered that when fuel vents out f the tank vent { located under the fuselage and beside the lower hatch} it will wick into the seams of the hatch and soaks into the wood. relocated vent line back through firewall and exited cowl down by the nose gear extending approx 1.5". should cure the problem. handle the wind well. only a slight elevator trim adjustment first flight.

That’s great news thank you for your update. If you have pictures we would love to see them.

Nice plane. I plan to get one. will a DLE35RA fit in this plane?

Aero-Works 10-18-2013 11:12 AM

Barry,

No because the plane has a tricycle type of gear the muffler on the 35RA will interfere with the nose wheel steering.

We have been flying ours with the DLE 30cc and it has more then enough power

Thanks
Rocco

I've flown 3 flights with the dle20cc last sunday {maiden flight} and I am very satisfied with the performance. it only weighed in at 12.4 pounds and performs all the maneuvers you would expect it to do with ease at 1/2 throttle. hammer heads, Cuban eights, figure eights, immelmann, inside loops, split S, spins, rolls. I contemplated the 30cc in considering the weight of the GT, but like I said above about having a dle 20 in the topflite Cessna 182 {12lbs}, also I have a Curtiss P-6e Hawk{76"}, Taylor Craft{80"} and seagull Yak 55M {69"} with the DLE 30 in them. they both weigh in at 16+ pounds and the yak at 14.8lbs. I feel I made the right choice in the choosing the DLE 20cc for the GT. my back ground as a modeler goes back 50+ years with 40 in R/C.

Congratulations on your maiden flight I am glad to hear it was a success!

Thanks
Rocco

I'm almost finished with mine. Thanks for the tip on the gas vent.
Was your CG close to the instructions or did you have to shift some weight around ?

cessna20 10-29-2013 09:38 AM

Roco,

Please advise where i can get sizes of GT trainer's box?
I like to find another way of shipment t o Russia.

tgunn 10-29-2013 01:56 PM

balance was right on the money using an EP BUDDY A123 2300ma battery from Buddyrc/com. I used the 3/5" wheels on the main and the 3" on the nose with the pants. will need to open the opening on the main pants for the 3.5" wheels to fit.
