52 inch & 60 - .90 Extra 260 ARF QB
I have been dreaming ( & saving) for the 60/90 Extra with 20cc DLA but it is out of stock
the 52 inch extra is spec'd with an electric motor which is a pain due to short flight duration In the mean time, so I can get the feel, for an extra, can the 52 inch be easily fitted with gas/ nitro engines & which one is recommended please would prefer 2 stroke - I have an OS 55 is this OK Thanks |
No. The 52" is specifically built for vibration-free electric power. An IC engine would destroy the airframe in short order.
I have the 52" e-version. I get 7 minutes of good flying out of ThunderPower 3900mAh 4S batteries. I could stretch that even more if I wanted to pay the weight penalty… and this airplane will handle it. Lots of wing area. . Tower Hobbies/Great Planes has a fifty-something inch Extra that is perfect for your OS .55. And I suspect it will fly better than the the AeroWorks example in that size; I've seen three of them, flown two, and all were heavy pigs. They flew okay, but needed LOTS of power. . |
This is the model:
