Well..I sold a plane and Engine...and sent off for another Python Yesterday...
Hope it last more then 8 flights this time. ... (my fault) Naming it Tyler 2..after my Grandson. He never got to see the other one fly. Thanks to Chuck at Aero Works for all of your help. All the staff at the Toledo Show and on the phones have been top notched.

Hey, welcome back! I'm trying to decide whether to hang on to mine or sell it and move up to a 100cc bipe. I have the motor, just need something to slide it in to. If AW made a 100cc bipe, it would be a no-brainer!

Well I am Very Happy with my Python, got 4 flights on it now with the 3W55iUS running rich (Break in) the eng has enough power to pull it vertical for as long as I want.

I really like how Light it flys, She lands like a dream so Sweet!

I concur with gregg660 and the help at AW, I had some issues with my cowl and it was taken care of immediately no questions asked, Great customer service.

Hope get your Python soon and get in the air.

Yep, I gotta agree with the 3W power.. I went with the 55i-CS... it flies great, but just from a simplicity standpoint, I should have gone wit the side carb (US). But the power increase over the original DA-50 is certainly noticable.

I want a plane that will sit in harrier a little better, and the only way to get that is to go bigger. Other than that, I really like the plane.

Yup the side carb is a snap and pretty clean looking, I did reverse the choke lever and put it on the opposite side of the carb and it works like a charm, I will try and get a pic of it.

How did your plane balance with the side carb?

With the rear carb, it didn't require any additional weight to balance, but to get the carb through the firewall, I had do cut a HUGE hole in the front of the firewall.. very close to the size of the mounting hole pattern. Between the carb and its adjusting screws, it was sizeable. Also, I had to drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the firewall box to access the adjustment screws.

I also had to build a baffle "box" around the cylinder. My temps were getting over 250 consistently. Some of this, I'm sure, was just because the motor was new, some of it was because I went with a "CS" engine, but I think a lot of it is just because the fins on 3W motors aren't as tall as the DA... they don't cool as well. After I build the box to force air through the fins, the temps dropped below 200, so now I'm happy with it.

Hmm... let me see.. it looks a LOT like an AW Pitts, but it costs more. The ad says that it has aircraft grade aluminum wing and stab tubes... I guess you must use the tubes to beat yourself over the head for buying the plane... cuz I can't see where they would fit inside the plane.

It also appears to have flying wires on the main wing. gotta love those when you get to the field!


All if this, and its only $100 more than the plane they ripped off!! Well, they do throw in a spinner.

Mine balanced out 1/4" behind the recommended CG with the tank empty, I think that is pretty good, lines are straight in flight and just a touch of down elv when inverted, Mounting was a snap, I put my throttle servo on the mounting box and have about a 2 1/2" push rod. I dont know how to post pics here but if you go to my gallery you can see the small hole where the Choke and the needle valves are pretty accessible.

I did cut out the bottom half of the fake eng and did cut a slot below it for cooling, there is one small baffle in it, I dont know what temps are but when I land I can put my hand on the eng with out burning the crap out of it, I do have a temp gun will have to take it to the field this weekend and see what it is.
