Default Aircraft ID no pics

Hey Y'all,Need a link if you can provide it, lost the one I had. Plane description. White in color, was used at the time 1998, to provide aerial shots of a Redskins game at FedEx Field. Prop driven, but very quiet. Had a rather long wingspan. Looked very stable which would make it perfect for what it was being used for. Any ideas?Oz

It seems highly unlikely given the rarity of the type but the only thing that comes immediately to mind is the Lockheed YO-3a Quiet Star. NASA operated one (predominately white in color) up until 2009 or so but I have no idea why they would use it to provide aerial shots of a football game!

How about a Diamond Katana flown at a low power setting?

Bill,

Looks like that could be it, but from everything I could find to read on it I have to wonder. The airplane I saw had to be equipped for IFR flight. Seems that didn't come till much later after I saw it. Who knows maybe that is what I saw.

It was the Katana, I met a guy that flew one of those A/C for games. It may very well have been the same plane and pilot. It was '96 in Tulsa, Ok.

The more I look at it, the more I think that might be it. The passage of time (16 years) don't think has clouded my memory that much. I can't find anything else that it could possibly be.

I know for a fact that those aircraft were used as aerial photo platforms at that time, so I would say it is the most probable answer. As far as being IFR, the end users could have gotten it rated for IFR even if they were not being sold as IFR aircraft.

It also could be a Helio Courier. They've used those for years in place of the blimps in this area...
